Band Application Admission
Phase 1: Initial Submission and Commitment Vetting
The Band Manager or Leader must submit the following materials via our online application portal. This phase is designed to confirm commitment and ensure all essential criteria are met
Required Materials Checklist:
· Non-refundable Application Fee: A $50.00 USD fee is required at the time of submission.
· Band Biography and Mission: A written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing the band’s formation, core musical influences, and a clear articulation of their career goals (why the ASMI Program is the critical
· Original Music Submission: A link (e.g., private SoundCloud or YouTube link) to at least two (2) professionally recorded original songs. These tracks must clearly demonstrate the band's "rock-oriented" identity, lyrical themes, and overall sound potential.
· Performance Video: A single, unedited video (maximum 5 minutes) of the current lineup performing a Classic Rock cover song (1950s–1980s) live. This video is used to assess stage presence, technical proficiency, and current ensemble dynamic.
· Band Roster and Commitment Pledge: A document listing all 4–5 core members and their respective instruments. This must include their signed pledge confirming their ability to be available for the entire 4- week program duration, 6 days a week (Sunday being the only guaranteed off-day).
· Manager/Leader Letter of Intent: A brief letter detailing the Manager/Leader's role, history with the band, and why this specific group possesses the work ethic and drive to succeed professionally.
Phase 2: The Interview and Chemistry Assessment
Bands that successfully pass the rigorous review of Phase 1 (demonstrating commitment and high potential) will be invited to the final evaluation stage.
· Manager/Leader Interview: A deep-dive interview focusing on the band's business acumen, resilience, understanding of industry demands, and overall organizational maturity.
· Band Chemistry Session: The full band will participate in a live virtual or in-person session designed to assess real-time communication, adaptability, ability to take direction, and the internal harmony of the group dynamic.
Phase 3: Final Selection Criteria
· The ASMI Selection Committee, comprised of the Founder and lead Mentors, selects the final three (3) bands based on a holistic review of the following weighted criteria:
· Technical Proficiency and Musicianship: Demonstrated mastery of their instruments and vocal ability during the live video assessment.
· Originality and Commercial Potential: The unique quality and market viability of their original songs.
· Discipline and Ensemble Chemistry: The demonstrated commitment and ability to function as a resilient, professional unit throughout the demanding 4-week program.
